Baby Toys and Teethers in Malaysia: Why "Goes in the Mouth" Makes Compliance Stricter
Teethers, teething rings, cloth books and comfort toys all count as "toys" in Malaysia, governed by the 2009 Toy Safety Standards Regulations, requiring a SIRIM Certificate of Conformity and the MC mark. Because babies bite and mouth them, the mechanical and chemical safety thresholds are higher than for general toys.
